This year, our pro bono initiative Passion Project has evolved to make our services more accessible and expansive in impact. At the peak of the global pandemic, we took it virtual to offer help to those in need while staying safe at home. Not long after, as the Black Lives Matter movement gained nationwide awareness, we expanded our services to nonprofits working to fight systemic injustice. In addition to professional services or outside volunteer hours, we’ve introduced a new VOICE category to encourage the many facets of community activism, whether it’s attending protests, signing petitions, or writing emails to government officials.
Since then, we’ve partnered with 31 nonprofit organizations to donate over $172,000 worth of services this year—from projects like raising national awareness of Hella Creative’s #HellaJuneteenth movement and encouraging corporate companies to participate, to supporting the EMS FDNY by educating New Yorkers about first responders’ needs during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
We’re excited to share a couple of our exciting new partners with more to come the next few months. We look forward to continuing our efforts in these areas for the year to come.
- Through Civic Nation, we're working on a new initiative called Vote Loud, a voter registration campaign working to get young Gen Z and BIPOC voters who are traditionally marginalized or experience voter suppression.
- With Election Day coming up, we’ve partnered with Poll Hero to increase awareness in recruiting student volunteers to work the polls. You might even see some of our employees volunteering their time to work the booths!
