It’s clear we’ve reached a turning point. 2020 will be remembered for broadly layered activism amidst a pandemic and a focus on long overdue accountability for institutions small and large. It’s clear that brand approaches to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion require a stronger, more intentional and transparent lens.
Brands and other institutions can no longer take from cultures without accountability, check the box on diversity without true equity or take a stand now without reflection of past behavior. Marketers and communicators play an essential role in guiding corporations and brands with an evolving mandate on trust, consistency and impact.
We face many questions — What is my company’s role in society and the current racial justice movement? Do our channels and creative reflect true diversity? Do our employees feel as if they belong? How can we consistently elevate diverse voices? Does my campaign strike the right tone? And importantly, is my “house in order?”
To answer those questions, Praytell is launching a new Corporate Allyship offering to help brands define their role and follow through in doing the work. From impact strategy to research, internal and external communications programs and crisis and reputation management, we’re helping some of the world’s biggest brands dig in deep and find their voice and impact in this important movement. And we’re doing it all, not with a corp comms playbook, but with a deep focus on cultural intelligence and insights. The team is led by Naria Frazer, Vice President, Head of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion, Stefan Embry Vice President, Acct Strategy, and supported by an internal team of strategists, creatives, and HR professionals.
Our Approach:
1. Immerse
We’ll dive deep into your company’s ethos and take inventory. Who you are, what you’ve done, what you’ve got planned and whether you reflect the change you wish to see. Through this, we’ll help you find your voice and the unique space you may occupy. Some may be starting from scratch — that’s ok. It’s about starting with intention and following through.
2. Kickstart™
We’ll facilitate informed, high-impact and high-energy collaborative sessions tapping the brain power and experiences of a diverse range of experts, ensuring plans are developed with your intent and informed by culture.
3. Culturalize
Praytell’s Council for the Culture™, a diverse board of paid artists, activists and influencers is a brain trust for forming new initiatives and a resource for finding diverse partners for an added level of authenticity and connectedness for your programming.
4. Build
There is no one-size-fits-all template. We’ll build from the ground up, leveraging diverse perspectives and experiences to ensure your plan for change represents your brand values as well as the values of consumers, stakeholders and the world at large.
5. Execute
Our team of creatives, communicators and strategists will help make the plan real — from forging partnerships to seeding with the right stakeholders. With benchmarks and accountability, we will ensure your plans are actionable.
6. Amplify
It’s important to share your good work. It inspires others and drives change as long as it’s done with authenticity, transparency and accountability. We’ll help share your story the right way.
